![]() This group of actors is kind of how I imagine the French to be-very free-living and liberated-though I know that's not true.) (It was a little confusing how some scenes would switch from the present to the past, especially with Pierre alive one minute, then dead, then alive, etc. When Pierre turns up dead, Lucie investigates the reasons for his demise and charts the network of sadomasochistic relationships that crisscross the town. At the center of it all is Pierre (Arthur Dupont), a conceited and vain bisexual musician in his late teens who acts as a magnet, to varying degrees, for a whole array of characters - from his sister, Lucie (Lizzie Brocheré), with whom he has a heated incestuous relationship, to a city councilor with whom he participates in gay orgies. Synopsis/Notes: Chacun Sa Nuit explores the carnal interdependencies among a host of characters who live in a town in provincial France. Let's just say a lot of people were injured, so it's hard to say who really lives by the end. The ending kind of leaves it up in the air who does/doesn't survive, though if you pause it just right on the last scene, you might recognize one person who possibly survives. It kind of borders on a mockumentary, though the humor is very dark (it would kind of have to be, right?) and is more at the beginning. But aside from that, I thought this was a decent enough found footage movie, especially since it was an impulse buy via Amazon. If they were so worried about nudity, why not shoot the scenes from different angles, wear flesh-colored underwear, or even wear a fake penis (hello, Boogie Nights)? The whole thing confused me it was just bizarre. I've never seen that done before except with Japanese porn or certain movies edited for television. (For being an unrated movie, I thought it was very odd the nudity that was shown was all pixelated, even when you could tell some of the actors were wearing underwear. Ed's plan slowly unravels and it all is captured on tape. In order to provide their fans with everything you'd get on a straight DVD, they have rigged their entire house with cameras and audio for your viewing pleasure. They are snuff filmmakers and want to make the first ever triple feature Three victims, three kills, all in one night. Synopsis/Notes: Ed and Susan appear to be a normal loving couple, however, they are far from it.
